I’ll never forget the day I was watching a sesame street episode which explored “where dinner comes from.” They were talking about “dinner” while surrounded by adorable animals at a farm! Horrified, I ran to the kitchen and said, “Mom what’s for dinner?” and she said “Chicken.” I felt a lump in my throat. “What do you mean, Chicken?” She wouldn’t look at me. “We eat Chickens?!?” She nodded, still cutting up ‘dinner.’ “Meat comes from animals,” she explained quietly – I could tell that it hurt her deeply to tell me. My eyes were burning. “We…we…eat….animals?” I asked, incredulous. She nodded – she still wouldn’t look at me. “What about when you eat a hamburger?” I asked. “Cows,” she answered, still looking down. Ugh, it was like a blow to the gut. I couldn’t believe it! The tears were streaming now. “What…what…what about Hot Dogs?!!” I was relieved to find out they weren’t dogs. But the poor pigs! Truly, I’ve never been the same.

Wow. You are my role model. I have never crossed such an amazing woman. You’re session meant a lot to me. (Fort Worth Country Day School session.) I myself have been dealing with weight problems. I’m an aspiring actress and I was wondering if you have any tips or suggestions such as where I should audition. Please email me!
